Before using the "Google Street View" features, ZOOM into the area of the map you are interested in. Street View is not everywhere, but much of Cranbrook is covered. After you drag "Pegman" onto the map, roads with Street View will highlight in blue. Drag Pegman slowly and wait before releasing your left mouse button for the server to deliver the "Blue Roads". Once a Blue Road is visible near your target location, drop Pegman on the road. Street View images will appear in this window. Further instructions are below:

These videos are hosted on "SCREENR", which is like YouTube. The video should be watched "FULL SCREEN" to get the best picture quality. There is a small button between the Volume Icon and the Screenr Logo with will toggle full screen mode. All the videos are accessable from Screenr.
Amy Woodland is one of the larger elementary schools in Cranbrook. We are very proud of our accomplishments in academics, fine arts and athletics. Highlands Elementary School has been serving its neighborhood in South Cranbrook since 1977. Highlands’ population is approximately 270 students in Kindergarten to Grade Six. At Highlands, we have a competent staff of 15 teachers which include Regular Classroom Teachers, Learning Assistance, Music, and Library specialists. Our goals center around improving both, Writing and Social Responsibility.
The present day Kootenay Orchards Elementary School opened in September of 1995, enrolling Kindergarten to Grade Seven. Today it enrolls 163 students from Kindergarten to Grade Six. The students at Kootenay Orchards participate in all extra curricular sporting events and co-curricular performing arts events. The school is extremely fortunate to have the strong support of a Parent Advisory Council, which has greatly enhanced the educational opportunities of the school community.
Laurie Middle School enrolls 460 Grade Seven to Nine students on a five by eight linear timetable. Students are divided into Teacher Advisory Groups of 25. Grade Seven-Eight TAG teachers teach at least two core subjects to their TAGs. Grade Nine students have a TAG, but do not have core teachers. Electives / exploratories include: band /music, French, foods, sewing, woodwork, metalwork, power mechanics, art, drama, computers, keyboarding and hockey.
Mount Baker Secondary School is the home for approximately 1000 Grade 10 - 12 students. It is the largest high school in the district. Mount Baker prides itself in offering a large variety of courses and having strong programs in the three A's - arts, athletics, and academics. Mount Baker primarily operates on the semester system but offers a few linear courses. There are four blocks per day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
The school, built in 2002, houses 473 Grade Seven, Eight and Nine student and 50 staff members. Parkland's L-shaped two storey building overlooks picturesque Elizabeth Lake Bird Sanctuary. It features a spacious multi-purpose area, a modern gym, well-equipped shops and computer rooms, up to date band, art, and drama rooms. Located on the second floor are the academic classrooms, roomy Science labs, and an extensive library.
Pinewood Elementary School, population 143, is in its twenty-seventh year. This small, family oriented school provides a safe and welcoming environment. Our small school population is conducive to school wide programs. One of our leading programs is Morning Exercises with daily, school-wide participation. The Pinewood Code of Conduct is centered around the theme ’PINEWOOD ROCKS’ where students develop respect, organization, cooperation, kindness and safety. With strong support from our PAC, Pinewood School provides exceptional educational activities.
Steeples School provides numerous programs to support students.
École TM Roberts School is the largest elementary school in Cranbrook, with approximately 350 students. It is the only
dual-track elementary school in the city which offers French Immersion from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
At École TM Roberts School we encourage each other to be Thoughtful, Motivated, Responsible, and Safe. Many of
our intermediate students contribute to our school by joining in our Student Leadership activities and committees. We
are also proud to be associated with One to One Reading, Big Brothers and Sisters, Canadian Parents for French, and Breakfast
for Learning.
Our areas of focus for this year are Primary Reading, Intermediate Numeracy, and Writing in French Immersion.

The Cranbrook RecPlex is home of the Kootenay Ice WHL Hockey Team. NHL size arena– seating 4200. WHL hockey games, family skating, figure skating, hockey, and artificial ice for 9 months. Summer use: concerts, trade fairs, rodeos, and summer ice schools. As well as an Aquatic Center, Fitness Facilty, Squash Courts.
East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) provides hospital services to residents of the East Kootenay Health Service Area.
